The Events Committee plans and manages the Foundation’s social events. Our Foundation hosts two annual events, an adult-oriented evening in the fall, and a family-friendly Outdoor Movie Night in the spring. Volunteers on this committee research venues and opportunities, determine appropriate entertainment and refreshments, create invitations and approach local businesses for involvement in our fundraising activities. New volunteers are always welcome.
The Fundraising Committee sets policies and guidelines for fundraising, identifies potential donors, and meets with individuals and businesses to create more fundraising opportunities.
Are you a good photographer? AWFAE seeks someone who will attend our events and take photos for publicity purposes. This is an easy commitment for someone who will be attending our events as a teacher, parent or community member.
The Public Relations Committee is responsible for updating the local media outlets on the Foundation’s activities, maintaining the Foundation’s website and Facebook page and generating electronic newsletters. Volunteers are always welcome on the Public Relations Committee.
